Bohuntine / Glenroy

PARALLEL ROADS (Viewpoint)] - These remarkable lines or " parallel roads " that run along the side of Glen Roy and some adjacent glens have been the subject of much discussion. According to folklore they are hunting roads constructed by Fingal the Giant and his associates. The roads are in fact, gravel ledges about thirty feet wide. These were formed by deposits on the shore of an ice-damned loch (lake) and the, roads, show the levels of the water as the ice receded.

THE MASS STONE - During the 17th Century was the period when the Covenanters were in the ascendant, churches were not at the disposal of the Catholics so Mass was said in the open fields, this is part of an alter stone found some time ago.
