In the early days Roybridge had its own Shinty Team called Brae Lochaber formed in 1887 who played their games at Keppoch


in 1897 Brae Lochaber contested the 2nd Camanachd Cup final at Inverness where they were beaten 5 - 0 by Beauly

The 1911 Camanachd Cup Final replay was possibly  played at Keppoch ? where Ballachulish beat Newtomore 3 - 1 following Ballachulish's successfull protest of Newtonmore winning 3 - 2 at Inverness

Definately played at Keppoch was the 1933 final where Oban beat Newtonmore 3 - 2 in a replay following a 1 - 1 draw at Corpach

and again in 1937 when Oban Celtic Beat Newtonmore 2 - 1 in a replay following a 2 -2 draw in Inverness

Donald Kennedy who was a prominent referee in his day and who owned the Post Office refereed the 1949 Camanachd Cup Final at Glasgow where Oban Celtic Beat Newtonmore 1 -0

Brae Lochaber amalgamated with local rivals Spean Bridge In 1946 - 1949 before re amalgating in 1958 to form Lochaber Camanachd  who currently play in red and White Hoops

In 1992 Roybridge residents Scott & Drew McNeil won their 1st Camanachd Cup winners medals by playing for Fort William who beat  Kingussie 1 - 0 at Glasgow

Scott won 5 Camanachd Winners Medals , 6 Runners Up Medals & won the Albert Smith man of the match in 2001 with Oban Camanachd who lost 2 -0 to Kingussie at Glasgow

Drew won ? Camanachd winners medals before he went on to manage Fort William Shinty Club & is the current Scotland Shinty Team Manager
